Welp, Easter has come and gone! Can you believe it? We started our weekend with an early morning egg hunt and brunch with our sweet neighbors. Everyone hid eggs in their front yards, brought a dish or beverage to share and then we all sat back, relaxed and watched the kiddos run wild! They couldn't have been happier!
I handle the decor every year so I grabbed a few things from around our home to liven up the festivities! The pastel tissue garland was leftover from Aria's paint-themed birthday party. I ordered the kit here but it did take an hour to put it all together so if you're needing a last-minute garland - give yourself plenty of time! I have a designated "party decor" box and love keeping items like this on hand to use for events and photoshoots!
Mr. Rabbit was borrowed from Aria's playroom and I just added a simple bow with some leftover ribbon. The vase of tulip bulbs was an impulse buy from Trader Joe's the day before. They were completely closed that morning and decided to open up and bloom for us during the party!
This year since I'm 30 weeks pregnant and taking it easy, I opted for making a simple fresh fruit salad instead of doing any fancy baking. This salad has one whole pineapple, one cantaloupe, strawberries, grapes and blueberries. It was quick and the kiddos loved it! Some of the other Mamas brought everything for mimosas! I'm counting down the days y'all. ;)
This sweet pink letterboard was a lucky find at our local Hobby Lobby. I've yet to see any in-store since, but here is a very similar one.
One of my neighbors brought these delicious giant muffins from Costco (everyone keeps telling me I need to get a membership!) and they were a pregnant lady's dream come true! I'm sure nobody noticed that every time Aria took a bite of one I finished the rest off for her. No shame!!
I also picked up these pretty (pre-made) marshmallow rice treats, mostly because the sprinkles matched our color scheme! This adorable pink scallop serving tray is by local Houston DIY blogger, Sugar and Cloth. It comes in a set of three different sizes and we've been using them for everything lately! You can shop them here.
These kiddos were more than ready for the hunt! We did a countdown and off they went!
Cuteness overload! It was this little gal's first Easter Egg Hunt and she totally rocked it!
Nothing beats the excitement on these sweet little faces! If you live in a community or neighborhood with lots of children, don't be afraid to throw up a sign or poster and invite your neighbors out for some fun! Aria made two new friends and my husband and I enjoyed chatting with some new families on our street that we've never met before. After all the morning excitement we even got together with everyone again in the evening for a sunset neighborhood cookout and it was wonderful.
And seriously, how can you not love all these fun colors? Call me crazy, but if you're ever having a bad day, just take a moment and get lost in these colorful eggs. :)
At some point out of nowhere someone brought out some confetti eggs and the kids started smacking each other on the heads with them! Aria wasn't a fan of the mess in her hair but I thought she looked sweet. They ended up smashing the rest of the eggs all over the ground and it was a big colorful Full of Bright mess!
From our silly, bright family to yours - we hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend!
