Happy May and Lei Day! Today is a special day in our family. Six years ago my hubby and I were on Oahu for our honeymoon and happened upon the annual Lei Day festival in Honolulu just after hiking Diamond Head. We knew nothing about the holiday at the time, but quickly learned that Lei Day is a big celebration of the Hawaiian culture and aloha spirit and it means the most gorgeous tropical flowers and leis everywhere! Ever since our visit we've celebrated this day in our own way at home in Texas. Today hubby surprised us with a luau cookout lunch on our new patio complete with homemade Blue Hawaii shave ice, ukulele music and leis and Aria and I made a grass skirt! Our day has truly been filled with aloha!
Keeping with that aloha spirit, I wanted to share with y'all the sweetest Palm Leaf Baby Shower my dear friend Brittany of Hello Honey Blog hosted for me and baby boy a few weeks ago. We reserved the beautiful patio space at Fieldings Local Kitchen + Bar in The Woodlands, where all of their ingredients are delicious and locally sourced, and it ended up being a perfectly lovely day!
I truly feel so incredibly loved and I'm so thankful for this beautiful and amazing tribe of women in my life! A huge 'thank you' from the bottom of my heart to everyone that attended and especially my friend Brit for putting this all together. Y'all make my heart smile!
